Ice Hotels

Every winter the Torne River gives up its ice, and every winter the hotel is built again. Artists from around the world apply to design its art suites, so no two seasons look the same.

Nights in the cold rooms are spent in thermal sleeping bags on reindeer hides. Warm rooms and cabins are there too. Icehotel 365, a permanent building kept cold all year, means ice suites can be booked even in summer. From late autumn to early spring, the dark skies bring a real chance of northern lights.
